Eindhoven – April 23, 2015 – The Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs has granted 2.5 million euros to extend seven promising research projects aimed at medical innovation. The projects, which are focused at debilitating and life-threatening diseases such as breast cancer, prostate cancer and thrombosis, are part of the Dutch CTMM (Center for Translational Molecular Medicine) research programme. CTMM’s mission is to accelerate the introduction of medical innovations to patients via public-private partnerships collaborations. The companies and academic institutions involved in the seven projects will jointly contribute a matching 2.5 million euros, making a total of 5 million euros available over the next two years.
Vanaf 19 mei 2015 kunnen innovatieve mkb’ers subsidie aanvragen voor de MKB-innovatiestimulering Regio en Topsectoren (MIT). Het kabinet en regio’s stellen hiervoor gezamenlijk 50 miljoen euro beschikbaar. Door deze samenwerking wordt innovatiesteun voor een ondernemer eenvoudiger en de slagingskans hoger. Naar verwachting krijgen 2.600 mkb’ers – 1.000 meer dan vorig jaar – steun voor instrumenten uit de regeling.
Op donderdag 9 april organiseerde HollandBIO op verzoek van regionale LSH organisaties de eerste Health~Holland Regiobijeenkomst. De HU (Hogeschool Utrecht) en HKU (Hogeschool voor de Kunsten Utrecht) gaan een strategische samenwerking aan via het Centre of Expertise Creative Industries U CREATE. Tegelijkertijd brengt U CREATE een inhoudelijke focus aan op een innovatie ‘cross-over’ met de sector zorg en welzijn.

T-Cell Factory B.V. (TCF), a privately held Dutch company and former participant of the Venture Challenge, has been acquired by Kite pharma, INc (KITE). KITE is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on developing engineered autologous T cell therapy (eACT(TM)) products based on CAR and TCR gene therapy platforms for the treatment of cancer.
